Overview
A Roster Sign-in Sheet is a list of the Learners enrolled in a Section, with a blank Signature column for each Learner to sign. Administrators use it to record who signed in to an in-person session. You can view the sheet on screen in Genius, or download it as a PDF and print it.
Note: To record attendance in Genius instead of on paper, see Taking Attendance - Genius CE & Enterprise.
Opening a Roster Sign-in Sheet
Open the Section.
In the Section's menu, click Roster Sign in.
The sheet opens on screen, with a Click to Download link at the top right.
Sign-in Sheet Layout
The header on the first page shows:
The logo and the Section name, with "Sign-in Sheet" under it.
Date: the Section's start and end dates as one range, for example 02/01/2025 – 04/02/2050.
A one-day Section shows a single date.
A Section with no dates shows "Ongoing".
Time: the Section's meeting days and times, for example Mon 06:00 AM-10:00 AM.
Location: the Section's location.
The Time and Location lines appear only when the Section has meeting times or a location. If a Section has neither, the sheet shows only the date.
The table has four columns: #, Name, Affiliations, and Signature. Affiliations lists every Affiliation the Learner belongs to. Long names and Affiliation lists wrap onto a second line in the same row.
On a sheet longer than one page, each page after the first starts with the Section name and repeats the column headings. Every page shows "Page N of T" at the bottom right, for example "Page 2 of 3".
Who Appears on the Sign-in Sheet
Only Learners with an active enrollment in the Section appear. Dropped and completed enrollments are not listed.
Learners are listed alphabetically by last name, then first name. Names display in your organization's name format, so on a "First Last" format the list is still in last-name order.
If your account is limited to certain Affiliations, you see only the Learners who belong to those Affiliations.
A Section with no active Learners still prints the header, so you have the Section name, dates, time, and location.
Printing a Roster Sign-in Sheet
On the sign-in sheet, click Click to Download.
Open the downloaded PDF and print it.
The PDF uses the same layout as the screen. The sheet is laid out for A4 paper and also prints on US Letter.
Rows are tall enough to sign in, so a large Section takes more than one page. A typical page holds about 25 to 30 Learners, fewer when names wrap onto two lines.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Resolution |
A Learner is missing from the sheet | The Learner's enrollment is not active, or your account is limited to Affiliations the Learner does not belong to | Check the Learner's enrollment status under Active Enrollments. If your account is limited to certain Affiliations, ask an Administrator with access to all Affiliations to print the sheet. |
The right side of the sheet is cut off on screen | Your browser window is narrower than the sheet | Scroll the sheet to the right, or widen the browser window. The downloaded PDF always shows the full page. |
The sheet has no Time or Location line | The Section has no meeting times or no location | Add meeting times or a location on the Section, then open the sign-in sheet again. |
